Homemade Brownies Preparation
Preheat oven to 355 degrees.
Olive oil or butter up two 8 by 8 inch baking pans.
One good size mixing bowl and electric mixer.
Homemade Brownies from Scratch Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
(Use butter, it tastes much better, you don't always need to worry about counting calories.)
2 cups white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 fresh eggs
1/2 cup dark or regular unsweetened cocoa
2 cups all purpose flour
up to 1 cup of: nuts or raisins, caramel pieces, chocolate chips
Homemade Brownies Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl and electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the vanilla extract and eggs; mix to combine (do not over mix). Next add in the dark cocoa and flour. Mix together lightly. Next, add what ever kind of nuts, raising, or other kinds goodies. Fold goodies into batter gently. Do not over stir homemade brownies from scratch batter. Two 8 by 8 inch baking pans work well for baking brownies. Pour batter into oiled baking pans.
- Bake homemade brownies from scratch at 355 degrees for about 20 minutes. Check brownies with a toothpick to see when they are about done. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
Homemade brownies are simply the best. Big thanks to Martha Stuitarty for this very good brownie recipe.
