Snickerdoodle Cookies Recipe Ingredients:
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
(HINT: use butter, they sure taste better even if there are a few more calories. Oh MY! You're eating a cookie, not a piece of celery. Forget the diet for once!)
1 -1/3 cup white sugar (granulated)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tarter
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 Tbsp. Sugar
Snickerdoodle Recipe Directions
Get out a big bowl and your electric mixer, beat the butter and 1 -1/3 cups granulated sugar until creamy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, cream of tarter, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, blending thoroughly.
In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and the 3 tablespoons of sugar. Roll snickerdoodle dough into 1 inch balls, then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat. Place at least 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Bake snickerdoodle cookies in a 380 degrees oven for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for about one minute, then transfer to racks to let cool completely. Store snickerdoodle cookies in airtight containers.
