1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons lemon peel, grated
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda

Sparkling Sugar Cookies Recipe Directions
Preheat your oven to 400 °F.
In a large mixing bowl cream together the shortening and sugar until fluffy, add in the eggs and beat well.
Slowly stir in the milk and add the flour, lemon peel, salt, baking powder and baking soda and mix until well blended.
Drop dough by teaspoons onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
Spray the bottom of a glass with vegetable spray and dip into the dipping sugar and then press down on cookie (dipping sugar could be colored for each holiday).
Bake sparkling sugar cookies until lightly brown (about 8 to 10 minutes).
